Banana earrings + acid wash pink jeans + neon yellow clutch + high ponytail = pure happiness in an outfit.

I took these photos a few weeks ago and only just got round to blogging them. I'd been meaning to blog this neon yellow Jimmy Choo clutch for ages, which has a very happy fashion story behind it. It had been on my wish list ever since I borrowed it for an event last year but I couldn't quite justify the price (after all, it only really holds a phone and maybe a tiny coin purse). When the Jimmy Choo sample sale rocked up, I registered but left it too late and got a slot on the last day. My dreams of neon Chooness were fading fast. But then a miracle happened - my friend and fashion fairy godmother Lexi was at the sample sale preview and, remembering that I was desperate to get my mitts on the neon clutch of joy, had picked one up for me. Result! Jimmy and I have been reunited, finally. Thanks Lexi! (You should totally check out her blog - her wardrobe makes me weep actual tears of joy/envy.)

A shot from when I was in Paris a few weeks ago, taken by Stockholm Street Style. You'd be right in thinking that the sneakers have not left my feet...

LEOPARD JEANS

Friday, 3 February 2012

There are a few items in my wardrobe that I wear over and over again and will continue to for years, even being as fickle as I am when it comes to fashion. These include the Isabel Marant boots and coat pictured, my Chanel pumps and several beloved pairs of black skinny jeans. Other than that, I'm powerless to the impractical things in life: namely anything mohair and/or pink. Anyway, while checking out Urban Outfitters' new spring/summer collection today, I got to thinking that everything from their Sparkle & Fade brand satisfies the fashion magpie in me while remaining gloriously wearable. Here I am wearing the grey leopard print jeans and flecked jumper from the new season collection, which, incidentally, form the basis of my new go-to winter outfit. (It's FREEZING in London at the moment.) I don't want to take it off.
