I know I may be in the minority here but... bring on autumn! Mainly so that I can wear this new wool shift dress from French Connection. I'm wearing it anyway (it's pretty rainy here in London), together with my Zara blouse (not recommended - the round buttons keep busting open and I don't even have massive tatas), Chanel flats and a leather jacket (not pictured). And 'scuse the awk' stance - I didn't need a wee, just in case you were wondering...

(Wearing French Connection dress, Zara blouse, Chanel flats.)

Yup, another Marant alert. This time it's my favourite, the Boston sneakers in black, that have hit NET-A-PORTER. I recently bought the Bobby (you can see me wearing them here, here and here and a few of you wondered where you could get your mitts on them. Well, here's your answer - the only difference with the Bostons is that they're all-suede with snake-effect bits. Gimme.

Get 'em while they're hot at NET-A-PORTER here.

Check out this lovely pink neon lace slip I picked up at H&M on Regent Street the other day. You can't see quite how neon the lace is in the photos, but needless to say it satisfies all my Deborah Marquit cravings without the mouthwatering price tag. £7.99!

I'm a little bit obsessed with my new bouclé skirt from Motel. So much so that I have been wearing it come rain or shine, resulting in several sweaty (but I like to think stylish...sort of) situations. I wore it last week for a busy day of meetings (exciting stuff ahead!) together with a crisp white shirt and a very old Stella-alike Zara blazer.

I own a lot of white shirts (blame the ever chic Natalie Massenet, my previous boss and a loyal white shirt wearer) but haven't busted them out in a while. I felt compelled to unearth one of them after my friend Laura and I were chatting the other day. Laura was telling me how wonderful and stylish Ursula Lake (wünder-stylist and founder of Violet Lake) is, with whom she is working at the moment. My first question (obviously) was, 'what is her style like?' Laura's reply: 'Tailored black trousers, Manolos, a crisp white shirt and a Rick Owens leather jacket.' That was all the encouragement I needed to dig out one of my favourite button-ups. White shirts 4ever.

(Wearing Motel skirt, Boy. by Band of Outsiders shirt, Zara blazer and Isabel Marant Bobby sneakers.)

I was powerless to these gloriously gold sunglasses when I laid eyes on them in H&M. I must have been feeling in a magpie-like mood because I ended up, without realising it, going on a bit of a gold accessories haul. Loving these teeny tiny charms from Astley Clarke, the number studs from Accessorize and finally, FINALLY I have found a glitter nail polish with BIG flecks of glitter (thanks, H&M). Which reminds me - have any of you guys tried the similar glitter polish from American Apparel? Any good?

(Featured: Nail polish, bauble ring and sunglasses all H&M, strawberry and teacup charms and 'N' necklace all Astley Clarke, Accessorize number earrings and YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in Le Orange.)

As a general rule, I don't like posting twice in one day. But you know me, anything Marant and I get a bit ~crazy~. So I'm throwing caution to the wind and posting TWICE in ONE day to tell you: NEW MARANT AT NET-A-PORTER! SHOES! MARANT! YAY! I can hardly contain myself. But I know this much: by hook or by crook, I need those Kylie pumps on my hooves pronto.

(Clockwise from top left)
Isabel Marant Stanley studded suede pumps
Isabel Marant Kylie suede pumps
Isabel Marant Jacob fringed suede and leather boots
Isabel Marant Lazio calf hair and suede wedge boots

I mentioned this tweedy number a few posts back when I was waxing lyrical about ASOS's AW12 collection.

I thought it was arriving late August but thanks to the beady eyed Erica (whose blog is a feast for a the eyes, by the way), I discovered it's available to snap up NOW! And snap it up I did. I was a little put off by how shapeless it looks on the model in the video but I've sized down and I'm hoping that my tweedy dreams will come true. That, or it'll all be an itchy mistake that in time we'll learn to forget, hopefully.

Get your very own tweed boilersuit here. (I never thought I'd ever say that.)

What can I say, I really like pink. I tried to resist it for many years but it was too late. I blame social conditioning. Needless to say, I love this dress, a present from Fairground. Add in some matching lipstick and I couldn't be happier.

(Wearing: Fairground dress and that Sparkle & Fade biker jacket again - I'm evidently a bit obsessed.)

Bip on a bow in the sky

Bip Dylan

I love Bip Ling. She is a constant source of visual inspiration for me as an illustrator and has been for a number of years. If you've been reading since the beginning you'll know that I illustrated Bip over two years ago (see the drawings here). I decided to do a couple of new illustrations, the first being of Bip on a gigantic bow in the sky (it seemed natural) and another of her and her dashing man Dylan.

Now excuse me while I go tie my hair up in the biggest bow I can find... I think you should do the same.

I really am a winter girl at heart. Give me a cosy cable-knit (and a hair tuck*) and I'm happy. Which is why I was so taken by this image from the Zara August lookbook.

The jumper is available here but I am going to hedge my bets until payday.

*I totally did the hair tuck/roll neck thing one day while I was working at NET-A-PORTER and I felt part Elin Kling, part silly billy.

When it's hot, my flat gets REALLY HOT. Almost unbearably so. At times like this the thought of wearing any clothes, let alone spending time picking through my wardrobe, fills me with fear. And that is why I'm cultivating a happy little collection of playsuits - perfect for when I'm feeling lazy on those sticky summer days, not so perfect for when you're dying for a wee and have to unbutton and derobe...

This House of Wilde number is the latest in my collection. You know how I love me some tie dye.

(Wearing: House of Wilde playsuit, Sparkle & Fade leather jacket, Isabel Marant Bobby sneakers.)

Monday, 13 August 2012

I picked this magnetic frame up for £1.50 from a charity shop the other day. I don't advocate clutter anywhere but the fridge, just so you know.

The photo is of me and my friend Nick at NAP's summer party last year. I wore Topshop shorts, a Zara blazer, a Cos T-shirt, Isabel Marant Amely boots and the Miu Miu sequined bag of joy.

Sunday, 12 August 2012

As well as my molars and best stage school smile, I wanted to show you my ace new Urban Outfitters jacket and Proenza clutch. I can attribute my HUGE smile to a mixture of aforementioned new items and wine (we'd been out celebrating my mum's birthday - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA!).

(Wearing: Sparkle & Fade leather jacket, Acne dress, Proenza Schouler clutch and sandals from I Can't Remember.)

I don't think I could ever have enough pink knits. I LOVE THEM. This ones Dotty P, and I rather like wearing it with a homemade pom pom necklace, floral trousers and my leopard Louboutins. More is more...

Wearing: Dorothy Perkins cardigan, Zara trousers, homemade necklace and Christian Louboutin pumps.

Being a proud member of the Little Tittie Committee (despite receiving a recent slew of emails announcing 'Big boobs are beautiful!' - thanks for the ego boost, nameless PR company), I stay loyal to a few select brands that cater for those small of bosom. These include American Apparel (love the soft cup bras), Calvin Klein (but only SOME of the bras - no balconette business), and Mimi Holliday. In fact, I loved a bra by the latter so much once that I bought it in three colours.

Anyway, my most recent Mimi set from fab new lingerie e-shop MEME is so pretty I almost didn't want to take it down from my wall after I shot it for the old blog. But obviously I did, because bras on walls just aren't socially acceptable.

Mimi Holliday bra and knickers, both available at MEME.

Thursday, 9 August 2012

This is Coco Minnie. She is brill.

I am wearing: Zara blouse, Topshop skirt, old trench from who knows where and Miu Miu bag.

Little orange boxes. And more specifically, what's inside.

Glittery Dachshund pen. Woof.

Pretty new lingerie. This set is from the Beautiful Bottoms sale.

The most amazing beef roast I have EVER tasted (apart from my parents' obvz) at The Prince Alfred in Little Venice.

A fashion legend. I feel lucky to have met her.

Finally, I understand the appeal of backpacking. Sort of. My Chanel backpack - an Etsy find - arrived in all its quilted glory a few days ago, and enjoyed its first outing today to The Phoenix in Victoria (which has FINALLY reopened - phew).

If you thought the best kind of squirrel was a red squirrel, you'd be wrong. The correct answer is a Katie Hillier squirrel, complete with an onyx eye.

Wearing: Vintage Chanel backpack (from Etsy), Isabel Marant jacket, Zara blouse, Dorothy Perkins jeans and boots, Katie Hillier necklace (from Astley Clarke), Michael Kors watch and Laura Lee signet ring.

In other news, I'm excited to be featured in Dorothy Perkins magazine this month! Thanks, Dotty P!

P.s. Please please please I BEG OF YOU vote for me in the Cosmopolitan Blogger Awards. Canned Fashion is nominated for Best Established Fashion Blog.
