GAGA FOR YALLAH

OK, so picture the scene. It's late on a Saturday afternoon and I'm wandering through Portobello as the stalls close up for business with my friend Trish. Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye I spot a flash of neon (you KNOW how much I like neon). The stall before me is filled with NEON Mexican-style skirts, bags and other such treasures. I nearly died. Not actually. But if I had at least the last thing I would have seen would have been Yallah's B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. creations. So that's her name - Yallah - I got talking to her, clutching many a skirt and oohing and aahing before sadly relinquishing all items (it was the end of my Portobello haul - no cash left). Each and every piece is handmade by her, using vintage fabric. Sigh.

I vowed that next pay day weekend I would take a trip to Yallah's magical stall and get myself one of her dreamy skirts. And so that's what I did. I like to wear my new Skirt of Joy with a vintage yellow jacket I picked up from a local charity shop and bright pink lipstick.

Yallah doesn't have a website, nor a bricks and mortar shop but you can visit her at Portobello market every Friday and Saturday - near the Ladbroke Grove entrance. If you get lost, ask around - the other stallholders will be able to direct you. Or simply look for the neon Mexican skirts. Oh, and say I sent you there (perhaps next time I'll get a discount, wink wink).

PRIME OF MY LIME

If you haven't guessed by now, I love lime and green. Individually but even moreso together. I picked up this skirt from a vintage shop in Paris for €5. Yes, €5! I think it looks rather Erdem-esque. I could live in Equipment shirts. And Meredith Wendell - don't even get me started on Meredith Wendell. I want EVERY SINGLE BAG THEY HAVE EVER MADE.

MY APARTMENT, THE HOME WHERE I HIDE

Ah, Ben Kweller. Whatever happened to Ben Keller? Anyway, when Vanessa Jackman came to chez Natalie to shoot me for Grazia.it, she also took some photos of bits and bobs around my flat. Here are the fruits of her, erm, lens. And before you ask, YES, the phone actually works.

I HEART JIL SANDER

Like many others, the Jil Sander SS11 show sent shivers down my spine - and my legs who, there and then, demanded to be clothed in the hot pink trousers immediately. Sadly, the trews in question sold out in a New York minute so I looked for an alternative and happily found one in the form of these vintage Versace bad boys from Etsy.

I'd also like to introduce you to my other recent purchase, the Jil Sander market bag. It's forced me to turn over a new leaf with regards to the contents of my bag. Usually I carry around the kitchen sink, various receipts and other such flotsam and jetsam. Now that they are on display, I have invested in two neon wallets. Nothing like bag feng shui.

So there I am, fully embracing JS SS11. Including the bun.

SHAKE YA POM POMS

I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of Vanessa Jackman's 'Girls Next Door' for Grazia.it. Which not only meant dressing up for a whole day, it meant hanging out with the wonderful Vanessa - a rare treat as usually we're whizzing past each other at fashion weeks.

I've decided to segment Vanessa's photos into posts by outfit, so here's the first set. I wore: Proenza Schouler top, Alexander Wang shoes and Miu Miu bag all from NET-A-PORTER (where I work, if you didn't know already) plus vintage skirt and homemade pom pom necklace.
