FOUR REASONS WHY I'VE BEEN A BAD BLOGGER

Here they are, all four of them. I've been working solid all week to get these done in time for Oxford Fashion Week's closing exhibition, hence why I've been M.I.A. This coupled with some other busy projects and my three-day liquid detox (for anyone who didn't read my last post I'm reviewing it for work - don't worry, I'm not a crazy fashion cliché) - which, by the way, I managed to do without cheating. I feel victorious. And hungry. Will post a link to my review when it goes live next week.

You can't see what I'm holding excitedly in the last picture, but it's a Hummingbird cupcake (standard). I couldn't even wait until Friday morning for my naughty fix. And let me tell you, it was WORTH IT. So what? I'm road testing a three-day liquid detox next week for work (self-inflicted but already dreading it). Get the cupcakes in now, I say.

Wearing: Topshop trousers which are slowly and sadly falling apart, H&M sweater, Zara blazer, Pickett fur, Hermes scarf in hair, Topshop sunglasses and Converse.

GREY MARL TWO WAYS, PART TWO

When I promised you head to toe grey marl, I wasn't lying. You can't really see here but the grey cropped sweatshirt has shoulder pads and khaki panels on the back. And yes, I'm quite aware that I am entirely wearing Wang rip-offs. Wow. When I'm rich and have twenty pugs and a handsome toy boy I promise I will buy LOTS of real Wang to make up for my sins.

Also, ch-ch-ch-check out my latest Zuneta guest beauty blog.

And as always, if you have any burning questions, Formspring me!

GREY MARL TWO WAYS, PART ONE

What a glorious weekend in London! Made all the more glorious by the arrival of my Topshop order, which consisted almost entirely of grey marl. It would have been rude not to have whipped my Wangalike sunglasses out and pranced around in front of the self-timer, so that's exactly what I did. I totally thought I was being super stealthy and that none of my neighbours had noticed the girl dressed head to toe in grey marl prancing around on the roof alone, but then a wasp landed on my hand and my scream definitely woke up everyone in my building if they happened to be enjoying their Sunday lie-in.

I must add that my jaunty poses are not me trying to be Britain's Next Top/Short Model, but rather attempting to fit into the shot (I don't think it's quite time to bust out a tripod; my neighbour already thinks I'm bizarre enough - I'm sure he heard me playing Cher the other morning...don't ask).

I'm wearing: Topshop grey marl tracksuit bottoms, Topshop Boutique khaki t-shirt, Aquascutum coat and my new LOVERS, Cos wedges (I don't mean to sound obsessive, but don't they remind you of a certain Wang Alla shoe? They do me.) The perfect outfit for what I spent the weekend doing: sleeping, lazing, re-teaching myself guitar (I learnt to play 'Stay' by The Do and 'Grey and Blue' by Jaymay today), and drawing).

Next post: HEAD TO TOE GREY MARL. The suspense is killing you, right?

FRINGE BENEFITS

I did it! I got a fringe. As Alice pointed out here, anyone would have thought I was considering life-changing surgery beforehand. But in the safe hands of Marcus (Urban Retreat) it wasn't traumatic at all. Better photos soon - I left my camera battery at work all weekend. In the mean time, I'll leave you with this picture Alice took of me ('scuse the sweaty fringe...it was hot in Starbucks):

WANGTASTIC

What I wore today (Primark jacket, ASOS dress), plus a photo of me looking like a creepy man who hasn't aged gracefully and likes telling stories, included to illustrate my DIY'd Alexander Wang Cat sunglasses - a touch of Collection 2000 silver nail polish and voila! Looks like the real thing if you squint your eyes reeeeeally tight so that they're closed and then imagine the actual Wang Cats in front of you. (Sorry for the super stretched photos - my brother tweaked the settings on my camera to make everyone look skinny and I only just figured out how to change it back.)

Also, I got a Form Spring! http://www.formspring.me/nhcannedfashion - ask me stuff. And when I answer, imagine me saying it whilst in the above pose and rubbing my hands gleefully.

And my latest guest blog for Zuneta is up - go check it out!

BIRTHDAY

Wednesday, 7 April 2010
Photobucket

To the untrained eye, I would appear, in this picture, to be on the telephone. In reality, I was merely using it as a prop whilst I danced to Telephone by Lady Gaga at my birthday party with my girlfriends and brother. Best. Night. Ever. I wore that H&M dress that I regretted not buying since seeing it on Shin (I luckily found it again and snapped it up), my Office velvet platforms and a big old velvet bow I picked up ages ago from Beyond Retro. Onto the many pictures...

Happy birthday to meee!

P.s. I've booked a hair appointment with my favourite mane magician on Saturday - should I get a fringe? And none of this 'side fringe' nonsense - I'll have a full one or nothing please. Thoughts?

P.p.s. In other (hilarious) news, I'm in this week's issue of Australian Grazia! If anyone has a copy, a scan would be much appreciated.

SIBLINGING

As you may or may not know, I have a very stylish brother. I like to think I taught him all he knows about fashion and music but sadly he has now trumped me in both and is officially cooler than me (and even has a cooler blog - check it out), so none of that really matters. We even co-ordinate by accident, see? Last week I went to visit him at Birmingham, where he goes to university, to perve on/listen to Owen Pallett (aka Final Fantasy). This is what we wore.

Photobucket

IT'S ALL SO MUCH FUN.

(Topshop shirt, Monki jumper, Topshop trousers, Gap boots, scarf from Make Lemonade and denim jacket an old friend gave to me a long time ago.)

We had to sit through 20 minutes of death metal (they call themselves progressive/electronic but whatever) to get to Owen but it was worth it. My ear drums are still bleeding...

Photobucket

Oh, Owen.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I rather liked Owen's partner in crime, Thomas Gill.

Photobucket

These were taken before the death metal, when we were hopeful that all we'd hear was twee, melodic singsongyness. (I busted out the ASOS shirt again.)

Photobucket

The cutie pie lead singer of Malpas, the more appropriate support.

And I'll leave you with one of us on the train - little bro is rocking double denim and I clearly can't get enough of the Wang plait.

Toodles!

NOTHING SAYS HAPPY EASTER LIKE...

P.s. If you can't move from your computer having filled yourself with chocolate, then please do check out my guest blog for Zuneta - this week read about my unrelenting quest for big (and I mean big) hair.

P.p.s. You may or may not have noticed that I now have a mischievous little ad on my blog, which I thought needed some kind of explanation. Whilst I wish I didn't have to sell my soul to the man, being an impoverished hack with rent to pay means that every little helps. One day I hope to be able to be ad-free (and to own a large collection of Chanel suits - but that's besides the point), but until that day comes, I do hope you don't mind this wee little thing taking up a few pixels...
