Fancy getting me a late Christmas present?

I've spent most of the day lounging around watching Home & Away and Who Do You Think You Are? with Nigella. I LOVE Nigella. Then my old friend Matt came over for a cup of tea and a mince pie, and in return gave me a whole list of musical recommendations, one of them being First Aid Kit, whom you should definitely check out if you haven't already.

I wore a vintage leather skirt, Topshop cardigan, Wolford tights and Zara boots.

Three faces of the Mulberry Bayswater including the Christmas Tree alternative - because who needs a Christmas tree when you have an ostrich bayswater to hang baubles from, right?

I LOVE MATCHES

My favourite press day of the season has to be Matches - not least because it's held in their Marylebone boutique, which just begs for some sneaky shopping afterwards (it's probably their plan all along - all that champagne on offer...), but also because the Matches girls - Chloe, Ruth and Hannah, namely, are such dolls. Here are some photos of me at their press day and bloggers' breakfast at the last LFW respectively. They're from the awesome Matches Blog.

1st: Wearing - H&M cardigan and blouse, vintage leather skirt, Tallulah Tu rings (I bought two of their Dries-esque bauble rings and wear them together) and Chanel bag, which the girls let me borrow and stroke lovingly for ten minutes.

2nd: You can't see but I'm wearing one of my favourite outfits: my beloved Zara blush blazer, bleached out skinny jeans, and patent black Ferragamo Vara pumps.

I could eat both a YSL Tribute and a Louboutin Décolleté 100 Jazz Pump for breakfast... Sadly, there is rent to pay so I've drawn them instead.

This is what I wore to brave the cold on Boxing Day - minus the heels because I didn't fancy like staggering around on the icy pavements. Wearing: the Aubin & Wills hat I gave my brother for Christmas (don't you just love buying presents you can borrow?!), Topshop leather trousers and shirt, Zara cardigan, a denim jacket my friend Leanne gave to me years ago, Louis Vuitton bag, Primark shoes and Tallulah Tu ring.

Listening to Plastiscines and Marina & the Diamonds and getting the urge to start my own girlband...

CHRISTMAS JUMPER

It's Christmas! To celebrate and to console myself for not having been able to find a suitable Christmas jumper, I've drawn a couple:

WELCOME TO CANNED FASHION

Thursday, 24 December 2009
My name is Natalie Hughes. I'm an online magazine editor by day and by night, I play dress up and illustrate waifish girls who have a big Net-a-Porter habit. I have created this blog to house the latter - the dressing up and drawing, that is (and a few fashion adventures along the way). Hope you like it!

My Orla Kiely camel coat is the ONLY coat I want to wear when it's freezing outside. The closest thing to a big cosy blanket. Worn with a Zara snood and over-the-knees, which I have been wearing to death - they're just like the Brian Atwoods! And my big gold Michael Kors watch.
